Food & Farming

Cooking tiers, farming, and keeping your stats stable

Food priorities, roughly cheapest to best

  1. Baked Potato / Grilled Corn — simple, needs only the raw vegetable and a heat source. Your day-one staple.
  2. Boiled Egg — good protein if you find a chicken coop or nest.
  3. Charred Meat — from any animal kill; better than eating raw meat, still a basic recipe.
  4. Ash Chicken Stew / Bacon and Eggs — mid-tier recipes once you have a cooking pot and more varied ingredients.
  5. Blueberry Pie and other baked goods — later game, once you have an oven and a farm producing surplus.

Water

Always boil murky water at a campfire (or better) before drinking it — raw murky water carries a real chance of making you sick. Once you have a Dew Collector or a stable water source near base, water stops being a daily concern.

Farming

Biome-specific food notes

Different biomes offer different easy food sources — see World & Biomes for the full breakdown, but as a preview: Desert gives you Yucca Fruit and cactus, Snow gives Snowberries and Blueberries, and Forest gives the widest general spread of huntable animals.

Note: Food and water drain passively over time regardless of what else you're doing. Don't let either hit zero — it starts actively damaging your health rather than just being an inconvenience.
