Bestiary

What to watch for — full stats and tactics live in the dedicated Bestiary tool

Universal modifiers

Almost any zombie can spawn with one of several overlays on top of its base type — recognize these on sight:

These aren't different creatures — they're the same zombie with a real, confirmed HP and XP multiplier applied. See the Bestiary for the exact numbers on every creature and mutation tier, including animals.

The ones worth knowing by name

A handful of zombies have a genuine mechanic beyond "hits you until it dies" — the Bestiary flags these with a ⚠️ badge. For the full tactical breakdown of each (what it actually does, and how to counter it), see Combat's Special Zombies section: Screamer, Cop, Spider, Crawler, Burnt, and the Demolisher.

Wildlife

Wolves and Bears hit hard and are worth respecting even outside of zombie encounters; Vultures attack from above and can break blocks; Mountain Lions are fast enough to catch you off guard while looting. Radiated variants of animals exist too — a radiated Vulture can spit acid, so "it's just wildlife" stops being a safe assumption once you're past the early game. Full stats for every animal, including mutation tiers, are in the Bestiary.
